P46 TRANSAXILLARY MITRAL VALVE SURGERY IS ASSOCIATED WITH EARLY RECOVERY AND SHORTER ICU AND HOSPITAL STAY

Abstract Background and Aim Several thoracic incisions have been described different techniques used for cardiopulmonary bypass, myocardial protection valve exposure in minimally invasive mitral surgery (MIMVS). of this study is to compare the early outcomes patients operated through a right trans–axillary (TAxA) approach with those achieved conventional full sternotomy (FS) operations. Methods Prospectively collected data who underwent between 2017 2022 at two academic centres were reviewed. Among them, 454 MIMVS TAxA access 667 FS (associated aortic CABG procedures, infective endocarditis urgent operations excluded). A propensity match analysis was performed using seventeen preoperative intraoperative variables. Results There no difference characteristics matched populations. The rate repair similar both groups. Patients group had higher artificial chordae. Operative times shorter but there trend towards decreasing CPB cross–clamp time over period. Hospital mortality 0.25%, postoperative cerebral stroke 0.7%. associated intubation (p<0.001) ICU stay (p<0.001). After median hospital 8 days, 30% discharged home vs. 5% Conclusions safe effective. Compared FS, it allows mechanical ventilation, able be without any further period rehabilitation.
